During math period, the students applied their skills of telling the time to create a timetable for the next school year. In addition, we reviewed the operations and strategies learned this year. 

Through the novel Front Desk the students review and enhanced their understandings of idioms. They applied these understandings through writing and drawing.

In social studies, the students learned about the contributions made by the Famous Five: Henrietta Muir Edwards, Nellie McClung, Louise McKinney, Emily Murphy, and Irene Parlby in the lives of Canadians.

In science, the students have learned about the importance of plants in the western and Indigenous perspectives. In addition, they have learned about plants propagation from cuts (advantages and disadvantages). We connected this information with the blight potato disease and Irish migration to USA and Canada.

The Grade 5 Farewell Celebration was a real success!
