Weather and Clothing
  • Given the weather we have experienced this week, we just want to remind you to make sure your children come to school with appropriate clothing please, as some children are arriving without snowpants, boots, gloves and hats, as well as indoor shoes to change into.
Healthy Eating Presentation
  • Next week we are fortunate to have medical students from the University of Calgary presenting to our students on healthy eating linked to the health curriculum. We are hoping that this interactive session will encourage students to make healthy choices for their snacks and lunches.
Physical Education
  • During December we will be teaching dance and yoga in gym classes. Please make sure your children have loose clothing and gym shoes for these activities.
Reading
  • We appreciate you supporting your children to read at home each day - it makes a big difference with their progress.

On Thursday, November 21st, 2019, the students will have another opportunity to expand their learning outside the classroom walls. We will have a free of charge field trip to Stampede Grounds. Please sign the field trip forms and return them as soon as possible. As always, the parent volunteers are encouraged to join us!
In math the students worked on diverse word problems (complete, incomplete, extra information) and created their addition problems.
During the science we were busy experimenting with solar powered cars.
In writing we continued to learn about Indigenous People culture, traditions and knowledge through the medium of stories.
Next Friday, November 22, 2019 there will be a non instruction day.

1.  Field Trip forms are due in tomorrow.  Please ensure that all items are filled out and that they are signed.  As we are going to Telus Spark on Thursday morning, it is very important that we have all forms in.  Thank you.
2.  Remembrance Day Assembly is on Friday at 10:30 in the gymnasium at the school.  You are all invited to come and watch as your children participate in this assembly.
3.  As the weather turns colder, it is also important that students are dressed appropriately for the weather.  They will need 2 pair of footwear (one inside and one outside), a warm, winter coat, snowpants, toque, scarf and mittens.  Socks are also important as they help to keep our feet warm and dry.  It is okay to send extra socks to school in case feet get wet.
I look forward to seeing you on Friday for the Remembrance Day Assembly.
