During math period, the students applied the concepts of perimeter and area to design a flower garden and review the concepts of addition and multiplication in order to figure out the cost.  

In social studies, the students worked in teams to build fur trading posts by using diverse materials. 

In science, the students have learned abut the conditions needed to grow crystals and made their own by using Epsom salt. 

The health's lesson focus was on time management, goals and steps needed to achieve them.

During math period, the students have learned about perimeter and area of regular and irregular shapes by solving diverse problems. 

In writing, the students worked on elaborating paragraphs that would include a topic sentence, supporting ideas and relevant details, and a conclusion.

In social studies, the students have learned about forts that were built in the 1800's in Alberta,  their importance in the fur trading and the changes the accompanied this process. 

In science, the students have learned about mixtures and ways to separate them. 

During the art, the students were busy learning and drawing optical illusions by using diverse shapes. 

The health's lesson focus was on hygiene and its importance in our general health.

No school for students on Friday, May 21 and Monday, May 24, 2021.

We will be back in class starting with Tuesday, May 25, 2021!

During math period, the students have learned about 2 and 3 D shapes by identifying, comparing and contrasting them.

In writing, we continued to discuss and record answers to questions raised by reading the novel The Front Desk.

In social studies, the students have learned about the changes (causes, effects) that occurred in the lives of Indigenous People. Elder Shirley Hill, our Indigenous guest, has shared valuable / authentic knowledge through story telling, dance and humor.

In P.E. we have explored frisbee golf by taking advantage of the facilities found in the park located nearby the school.

In science, the students have learned about different states of matter and their importance in our daily lives.

During the art, the students were busy learning about the art form called pointillism and created original pieces of work.

Next two weeks the learning will take place in the online medium.
